Founded in 1999, Saigon Aquarium (SGA) began as a small but highly organized freshwater ornamental fish breeding company in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. At a time when few international buyers were willing to try tropical fish from Vietnam, we worked relentlessly to prove our quality and reliability. Today, we are proud to be recognized as one of Vietnam’s leading breeders and exporters of tropical ornamental fish—freshwater and marine—serving wholesalers and importers worldwide.
Our journey started with collecting and reselling ornamental fish within Vietnam. As demand grew, we built our first breeding farm spanning 8,000 sqm, marking the beginning of our long-term commitment to sustainable aquaculture. With valuable support from experienced Czech fish experts, we trained our team in advanced breeding and fish health management. Over the years, we combined international knowledge with local conditions to develop our own proven system for breeding and raising high-quality fish.
In 2000, we completed our first official export shipments, marking the start of SGA’s international presence. Since then, Saigon Aquarium has grown into a reliable ornamental fish exporter in Vietnam, shipping consistently to more than 30 countries across Europe, the Middle East, Asia, North America, and beyond.
This wide export footprint reflects our ability to meet diverse market requirements, strict import regulations, and varying customer standards worldwide.
Between 2008 and 2010, we expanded our focus beyond breeding to include responsible wild collection and species discovery. One of our proudest achievements was introducing Sewellia lineolata to the global market—quickly becoming a standout species in the ornamental fish industry.
In 2010, following continuous advancements in quality and operational standards, SGA became the first Vietnamese member of OFI (Ornamental Fish International)—a major step forward for Vietnam’s ornamental fish export community.
