GOLD FISH

The Gold Fish (Carassius auratus) is a freshwater fish in the family Cyprinidae of order Cypriniformes. It is one of the most commonly kept aquarium fish. Gold Fish is native to East Asia.

Maintenace:

Goldfish should be kept in an aquarium that is big enough for them to swim freely. A garden pond is an ultimate choice for their growth. Good filtration is quired. Water for goldfish should be changed once per two days.

Water conditions:

Gold Fish from Saigon Aquarium accommodate well to tap water, after chlorine treatment.

Range of pH: 6.5 – 8.0

Water temperature: appx 22˚C – 28˚C

Diet:

Gold Fish are omnivores, they will eat either frozen or live foods or even plants. They can be fed one or twice per day, feed them small portions which they are able to consume within 2 minutes. Do not overfeed or leave food leftover in the tank, as it causes ammonia and nitrite and becomes toxic.

Behaviour:

Being a social, playful fish, which makes them a perfect match for the community aquarium. Aggressiveness is rarely seen if it had not been for the competition in food.
